My name is Jennifer L. Stark and I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) and owner of my private practice. I have a Master of Arts degree in Psychology from Chapman University, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from San Francisco State University, and hold a California license to practice marriage & family therapy. I have over 12 years experience as a therapist. I have worked in private practice settings, churches, foster family agencies, and mental health clinics. I have experience working with couples, families, children, adolescents, and adults addressing issues related to depression, anxiety, abuse, trauma, relationship problems, and more.
In 2005, I opened my office in Los Banos, California. Currently, I am the only licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) in town with a private practice.
My office is located in a quiet location and is wheelchair accessible.
My office hours are by appointment only. I offer the availability of Saturday appointments.

Marriage counseling is generally provided by licensed therapists, known as marriage and family therapists, who specialize in relationship issues. Marriage and family therapists evaluate and treat disorders within the context of an interpersonal relationship. They typically have a master's or doctoral degree. After thousands of hours of additional experience under supervision, they take an exam to become licensed by the state of California.
Marriage and family therapy is usually brief, averaging about 8-12 sessions. It focuses on specific problems and solutions. You may meet with a therapist individually, with a partner, or with your whole family. Marriage and family therapists provide help with a range of problems, such as depression, anxiety, and parent-child conflicts.
